*....the end of Sept.* It's a long, long story, but in a nutshell the company I work for has been in the process of "going public" and so along with that...there are court filings, waiting periods and more court filings...more waiting..etc.. in the meantime, investors can't send funding....until it's all clear so that has left our company in serious financial bind... in fact I haven't had a paycheck in 2 and a half months now.... so the $$$ struggle to keep home and everything connected with being a homeowner going has been extremely stressful...and now here it is ~~ Christmas ~~ I have one saving grace or actually 2... 1 is that I have a very nice fat trust fund that my mom is allowing me access to in order to maintain what I normally would be paid every 2 weeks... Plus my rental on my apartment attached to the house... So with money still coming in... it helps...but I have to pay that trust back... and my fear is... What if we don't get our back pay??? I can't quit my job..(because I quit my last job to come to this job)....haven't been laid off or fired....all though that might change today... (we lost a ) oh well....?? So.. it's heavy stuff (for me right now). Heavier than I'm accustomed to I should say...and I am not liking it one bit. I do hope all works out for not only me... but for all of us going thru whatever it is we are all GOING THRU... especially at this time of year. Thanks...for listening... Slide. Cooks corner with Slide... aka..Mistress...aka...slidinangel...yada, yada, yada... Thought I'd share a couple of recipes... Why? Oh just cuz... cuz I felt like it... cuz I had to make coleslaw for Thanksgiving and mentioned in titsandtires blog during his Comment weekend and Bard posted a comment that he didn't know onions went in coleslaw.... So, here's my Recipe for Meatloaf... (I have actually been woke up in the night by a ringing phone and asked if I had any of it left over...yes I do I said...and promptly hung up the phone and went back to sleep) MEATLOAF...oh...I should probably mention.. I don't use real measurements...it's all a pinch of this or that..etc..ok. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees 1 LB hamburger 1 onion (any size you want--doesn't matter, just what ever you like)--chopped small to medium.. again your choice. 3 eggs 1 small can of tomatoe sauce Italian or Herb seasoned Bread crumbs (I'll say at least a cup and a half--more if needed) Approx 1/4 teaspoon of minced garlic A dash of Italian seasonings A dash of Oregeno A dash of Basil I personally don't use salt...but if you do, ok. A dash of pepper Mix all together but only use half of the can of tomatoe sauce. If it feels too dry... add a little more tomatoe sauce but not much more.... if it feels to moist..add a little more bread crumbs..... until the mixture is just right...not too dry/not to moist... Place the meat mixture in a greased baking pan...shape your meatloaf side to side...front to back...alternating sides then to the front, etc...until it's shaped ..well...like a meatloaf... duh..lol... Also, to get the excess air out of the mixture which is why it might fall apart if you didn't pat it into shape really good. Then into the oven.. for approx 1 hr and 15 min's During the last 15 min's... pour and spread the remaining tomatoe sauce on top of the meatloaf and let it finish baking. Then... when it's done...let it cool for maybe 7-8 min's before you cut into it. COLESLAW.... This is really very easy...and very, very good.. it's actually my mom's recipe. Also, it's best to make it the night before you serve it...it's way better the next day. 1 head of cabbage or whatever depending on how much you need to make...etc. But for now we'll stick to just 1 head. 1 onion.... again... whatever size you want..however much you like...doesn't matter..but some onion should be in it. If you have a food processor... use it for this... otherwise you'll have to chop it by hand and that sucks. Ok.. chop the cabbage as small as you possibly can... pc's of the cabbage should be about the size of rice... (see this is where the food processor comes in handy)... or you can shred the cabbage...but that sucks too... so food processor is really, really the way you want to go if you can. Same with the onion... again... use as much as you like...or as little as you like..but it needs a tad bit of onion. I use nearly 3/4 ths of a medium onion... my mom uses half an onion. Miracle Whip salad dressing Drizzle of apple cider vinegar Dash of sugar Ok... so in your bowl you've got the shredded cabbage and onion... Add about 1 glob....spoonful of salad dressing... and mix that all in... then very carefully...and not very much... just drizzle in a tiny little bit of vinegar....mix this all together....then sprinkle a little bit of sugar... and mix it thru. Give it a little taste... and adjust accordingly...either a tiny bit more sugar or vinegar or salad dressing...however... you want to be careful not to put too much salad dressing in because by the next day...it might make it too runny. Then just cover the bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve. Now my Dad...used to sometimes put parmesaen cheese in his coleslaw... which gives it a really cool taste... very, very good. So, I hope someone will try my recipes...and I hope they turn out as good for you as they do for me...and...if ya do...let me know how it did turn out. Ok? Oh.. and if anyone is interested... Have any of ya ever heard of "frying chicken in the oven"...??? Let me know if ya want me to tell ya... the absolute best damn fried chicken you'll ever have... To be jolly.... Or so they say..... This time of year has always been a hard time for me...and has been for many, many years....still is. Lot's of reasons...stemming back to all those years as a single working mom...trying to make ends meet...trying to provide for my ....wishing every year to be able to give her that one special gift... You know the one..the one they talk constantly about...and each year it's different...but for that year, for that Christmas... that's what she wants...even when she didn't say anything... you could see it in her little brown eyes...when she'd see it advertised on TV...or hears the name of it. You'd see her face...first she'd be hopefull...then you could watch that hope fade as she knows and remembers from years past...not this year. Heartbreaking...as a parent to see that...and not be able to make it better For years and years...while she was growing up we struggled... or I should say... I struggled. Money was never plentiful...and I didn't get support all though I was supposed to. I was divorced back in the day when support wasn't taken care of thru the courts... instead, it was issued on the decree, but making sure anyone got it wasn't (I guess) of any more concern to the court. So, probably 80+ % of the time I didn't get it. Back then all he had to send me was $125.00 a month... that's it. Very, very cheap by todays standards. That was one reason the holiday season was hard for me... another one was that on Christmas eve...at 3 o'clock in the afternoon...in 1988 my grandmother passed away....suddenly from a heart attack. Those of you out here in Blogland who have lost a family member or close friend...any loss of a loved one at this time of year...knows how hard it is....yes, it's hard to lose anyone at anytime of year...but somehow to lose someone at Christmas time... just makes it that much more difficult. You know that song... "Grandma got run'd over by a reindeer"....I HATE THAT SONG....so insensitive. Heartbreaking....and not be able to change it... Then we manage to get past Christmas....somehow we manage to do something...even if it isn't a lot...we get thru the company Christmas party, we get thru the well wishes...and we manage to wish those of us we love and care about a Merry Christmas.... while deep inside...Christmas time hurts, Christmas time isn't joyful... I know it sounds like BAH, HUMBUG...and like I hate Christmas... the truth is I don't hate it...I just find it to be an unhappy time of year for me...and year after year I struggle with it. You'd never know it if you saw me....you'd never know that deep inside I am dreading Christmas... and it get's worse each day closer to Christmas day....you'd never know that deep down inside I wish I felt as excited about it as many, many people do....then again... how many of you out there...go thru the same thing....yet, no one knows...because you don't let it show. Then...comes New Years Eve... New Years Eve...is normally a time when you are with your significant other, your spouse, your boyfriend...or girlfriend...or maybe someone you've just started seeing/dating....and maybe you've decided to ring in the New Year at home alone....just the 2 of you.... Or... Maybe your going to a party...a bash...a gathering....or maybe just down to the local bar to laugh and sing and dance and whatever else goes on.... Or... You've been stood up for the umpteenth time... Or... You've been told..."go ahead and go to the party with Susan and Jim...and I'll be along in a bit... I have to go to this place first..."... and he never shows up.. Or... You've been out all night drinking/getting high...with your live in boyfriend....only to be left sitting at the table....while he's "gone" to the bathroom...and then only to find out he's given some girl named "Sassy" OUR phone number... So, when Christmas day comes... I'll put on my best Merry Christmas game face...and put on my best Merry Christmas attitude...and carry on as I've done for so many years....(actually, it has gotten a little bit better the last couple of years....not as bad as numerous times before) Ditto... with New Years.... 'eh..who know's maybe by then there'll be a new man in my life.... huh? Not that having a MAN in my life should justify happiness....hell, I've been Buddhist long enough to know it has to come from within....but you know... sometimes having one around sure does help....Certainly can't hurt... Can it?

It's so confusing.... I fail to see what is wrong It was fine until I updated it today to include that if someone had already sent me a message and I said no thank you, wouldn't that indicate I would still say no thank you. Also I included that I wouldn't check a person's profile if they didn't have a picture. So, before I added those 2 basic additions to my profile it was fine? I just don't get it... oh well, guess it doesn't matter... is this better?

Mystical Mistress pops over to see Assistant# 2 after realizing she made a horrible, dreadful mistake KP...KP...Assistant# 2...anybody home?...Hmmm...seems KP and Candy have gone to the Palace... looks like I need to go and find them. I forgot to tell you both..to go up to the 2nd floor of the palace and pick out what bedroom you each want...then call Hector...he'll be down in the control room...and tell him you need to see the catalogs so you can pick out your bedroom furniture and accessories. You can have anything you want...ANYTHING... $$$ is no object here in Blogland, especially at the Palace of the Mystical Mistress. Mistress has a question to pose to all who visit the Palace... If you could...and there were absolutely no obstacles....preventing you from having your Fantasy bedroom.... What would it look like...how big would it be...what colors would you use...where would it be....what kind of view would you have...what sorts of fabrics would you have covering the bed...the windows... ?? NOW... who would you have in there with you for 1 MAGICAL NIGHT? Share with the Mistress...let your imagination be free.... {=} please use as much space as you want...no limit on length...just go with the flow and share your fantasy bedroom with us....

This was sent to me this evening in email...and so I thought it was something that needed to be shared....it had the brand name of a particular soda...but I took the name out and just replaced it with "soda"...but this could also happen with beer cans...and anything else of anything that can be drunk from the can.... Leptospirosis -- VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ This incident happened recently in North Texas. A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of "soda" which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit. She died on Wednesday. The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of "soda" she drank from, not using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis. Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the upper part of soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouses and transported straight to the shops/stores without being cleaned. A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets (i.e.). Full of germs and bacteria. So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident. Please let people know about this ... ok? **note to AdultFriendFinder...please allow this post....
