I don't trust China. Too many people get arrested and are never seen again. I tell anyone who will listen, if you get a visa and are in the U.S. stay! Seek asylum if you can, become a student or marry a U.S. citizen. There are more than 60 ways to get legal status in the U.S.

Do not go back! If you do not trust China PRC....

Class does not mean money. In America having class means you have style and spirit. Some people have class and others do not.

Now in some countries class means old money and landed aristocracy. Being rich and lacking sense and style makes you a not classy upper class person.

While it is nice to be rich, class in the sense I value cannot be bought with money.

Think about honor and class. Donald Trump attacks John McCain Jr. Who has honor, class and style? Not a hard question to answer even though McCain has passed away....

I admit I have my standards. I will pick up coins from the ground. But I have a limit. I only bend down for nickels, dimes and quarters. I won't stoop for a penny. I leave them for and others who need pennies.

A penny will not get you much these days as penny candies cost more than one cent.

Lincoln would not approve, but a penny was worth more in the 1860's.

Ocean front property could get wet

The oceans could rise by over 6.5 feet by 2100! Florida, Louisiana and Malibu watch out!

The estimate has been revised upwards because ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica are melting more rapidly than expected.

New predictions: In 2013, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicted that sea levels around the world would rise by between 52 and 98 centimeters by 2100. However, a new study in PNAS by a group of 22 researchers predicts that the real level could exceed two meters, if emissions growth continues along current trends—an outcome they describe as “plausible.”

The impact: This scenario would lead to the loss of 1.8 million square kilometers of land, including critical areas of food production, and displace up to 187 million people.

Complexity and uncertainty: The study includes some vast ranges of possibilities. The authors say this is because improved understanding of ice loss has increased the bounds of uncertainty. However, they are confident that previous estimates were too conservative.

Manhattan may also be underwater....

Mueller says so

Mueller is a master of understatement. He made it clear that Trump may have obstructed justice at least 12 times, but he was not permitted to indict under Justice Dept rules so that is the situation now. Congress can impeach or another AG may indict after Trump is out of office. Not now for justice.

Trump was not clearly innocent of the crime of obstructing justice, Mueller knows that for sure. If Trump was clearly innocent of that offense, Mueller would have said so.

Mueller found no evidence of a contractual conspiracy with the hacking Russians and he said that was the case. Mueller found the Trump campaign did welcome Russian help to defeat Hilary, which is unethical, low, traitorous, against the spirit of U.S. campaign finance laws, but not totally criminal. Just corrupt and UnAmerican. A fellow traveller with Putin. A commie loving pinko they would have said in the Fifties. An unthinking stooge to be taken advantage of, the Russians think.

So now the Dems in the House must investigate to see if they have enough evidence to impeach Trump. The Senate may not remove him, but Trump deserves impeachment.

Eventually the mismanagement, the lying, the violation of laws and laundering money for the Russians, his bank and insurance fraud, stealing money for his pet wall from other uses that Congress appropriated the money for... Plus some more we will see once his tax returns and the slush fund from his Inauguration are disclosed...All will show a corrupt President unfit for office. Investigate now under the Impeachment label, then impeach.

Did you know there is a group of prosecutors who want to punish parents who let their eight year old walk to school? The DA's call it neglect or endangerment. This " abuse" can get the parents deported! If the parents are green card holders or asylum pending.

Believe it as I had the case.

Impeaching Trump

As a sentient human, I am appalled by the idiocy of Trump. He is corrupt, amoral and chaotic. Probably suffering from dementia.

The Founding Fathers provided a remedy for removal of a President. Impeachment. The easy part is getting the House by a simple majority to impeach which is akin to indictment. The hard part is convicting in the Senate by two-thirds majority. Since 1789 no Prez has been convicted but three have gotten impeached: Johnson, Nixon and Clinton.

So Democrats are now wrestling with the use of impeaching Trump if the Repubs in the Senate will not convict. What is the point? Well the point may be self esteem.

If a bully is going to force you to give him your lunch money do you protest and start a fight you will probably lose or do you meekly give in to a illegal demand. Are you a wimp or a human who respects himself enough to fight against bad behavior.

If you accept wrong doing without protest you are a groveling worm not a human with rights and free will. Do you grovel before a tyrant or go down swinging?

I was in the Pelosi camp that investigate first and not bother impeaching until there was a bipartisan group that saw the corrupt dishonor of Trump. No more.

More than the Mueller report is now occurring. Trump has taken on the role of a king. He decided he suffered enough investigating. His finances are private like his tax returns. He thinks those who oppose his are committing treason. He deserves impeachment for denying Congress it's hallowed role as the investigator of Federal government negligence and fraud. Trying to stop Congress investigating is a violation of the power of the Legislature. The act of a dictator, would be king. Totally unAmerican. Totally dishonorable. Totally unacceptable.

Trump has no grasp of U.S. history and values. He forgets the eight or nine investigations of Hilary Clinton over Benghazi. Stupid and expensive, but legal and within the rights of Congress. Whitewater was also long, expensive and pointless but fair game.

So the stonewalling of Trump must be fought. Impeachment investigation is the answer.

The first article of impeachment should be the attempt to bar Congress from functioning to investigate Trump's corrupt money practices, including funds from foreign sources, tax fraud, insurance fraud, money laundering from Deutsch Bank and the Russians.

Second article: Treason for helping the Russians hack the 2018 and 2020 elections after the FBI found they were influencing the 2016 election.

Third article: The chaos and improper use of unconfirmed acting cabinet members not sent to be confirmed by the Senate.

Fourth article: The intentional violation of the oath of office to see that the laws are faithfully executed, by lying to the public and Congress about so many things.

Fifth article: The diversion of funds appropriated for military housing and flood control to build his Southern wall at huge expense, about a Billion dollars a mile! A wall that does nothing to stop migrants asking for asylum and that does not stop imported drugs that 90% come through ports of entry in cars and trucks.

Sixth article: The corruption of the Federal government for partisan purposes. Like Nixon, Trump has a list of enemies he wants harassed by the law enforcement of the U.S. government. He has pushed the AG to prosecute his political foes and protestors. Sounds like Putin, Kim Jong Un, Xi Jinping and Edorgan. Dictators and would be kings.

Even if impeachment fails to convict in the Senate, the House must act. Or become pointless.

Another sad story for those who enjoy schadenfreud. The pleasure from others suffering.

Another friend has an elder in prison for life due to huge drug trafficking conviction.

How do you deal with your being in prison for the rest of his life?

Not easy to deal with. I have nothing to say about it and so say nothing.

Total denial is the only way to live with the unthinkable.

Again your daily problems seem pretty small in comparison.

Count your blessings.

Sadly I have a friend who has been afflicted with sad step . He has two, and one is in prison awaiting attempted murder case, but is too mentally ill to stand trial.

The other suffered a stroke and an aneurysm probably from drug use, and is out of her coma, but still at about a second grader in physical and mental development.

And you think you have problems!

Your own lying eyes?

An old punch line: Who you gonna believe? Me or your own lying eyes?

Donald Trump lies all the time. We know that. Some of us are incensed and disgusted by this. Others have been worn out by it. But, few even attempt to deny or excuse it anymore. It has simply become a recognized feature of the man and a predicament for the country.

Last month, The Washington Post’s fact-checker column announced that Trump had reached the ignominious marker of having told more than 10,000 false and misleading claims as president. And, the pace has quickened from the early periods of his presidency, in what The Post called a “tsunami of untruths.”

Trump lies about everything and for every reason. He lies to brag. He lies to deflect. He lies to inflate. He lies to defame. He lies to praise. He sometimes seems to lie just for the sport of it.

He is being trained, right before our eyes, to see that there is no cost for this deceit among the people who support him. He can lie at a rally, right to their faces, and they will still cheer. He can lie in public proclamations, and the Republican cowards in Congress will find a way to defend, rationalize or forgive it.

When a dyed-in-the-wool thief realizes that there are no consequences for theft, everything not nailed down will go missing. The same is true of the liar: When there is no consequence, the deceiver is unbound and unashamed.

So who are you gonna believe Trump or your own lying eyes?

Trump rejected again by the courts

A second federal appeals court has rejected the federal government’s rescission of DACA program that defers deportation for immigrants brought to the country illegally as minors. The case is Casa de Maryland v. Department of Homeland Security. The 2012 program, known as DACA, is Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. The program deferred deportation for immigrants and allowed them to obtain work permits. Immigrants in the program had to have clean criminal records and meet other educational or military service requirements.

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals at Richmond, Virginia, ruled 2-1 Friday that the 2017 rescission of the program was arbitrary and capricious. The 4th Circuit decision follows a November ruling by the 9th Circuit at San Francisco, finding phaseout of DACA was arbitrary and capricious.

Circuit Judge Albert Diaz wrote the majority opinion for the 4th Circuit. He said the government’s decision to rescind DACA didn’t require notice and comment, but it nonetheless violated the Administrative Procedure Act.

The Department of Homeland Security failed to give a reasoned explanation for the change in policy, making it arbitrary and capricious under the APA, Diaz said. A “reasoned analysis” had supported implementation of DACA, yet the department “changed course without any explanation for why that analysis was faulty,” Diaz said.

“Nor did the department adequately account for the reliance interests that would be affected by its decision,” Diaz wrote. “Hundreds of thousands of people had structured their lives on the availability of deferred action during the over five years between the implementation of DACA and the decision to rescind.”

A dissenting judge said the decision to revoke DACA could not be reviewed by the courts under the Administrative Procedure Act.

Trump's immigration stunt

Jared Kushner and Steve miller are anti-immigrant. No wonder their plan is anti-immigrant.

The stunt offered stands no chance of passage. Trump is an idiot.

They did not talk to immigrant attorneys or immigration judges to find out how to make a success of the need for immigration law changes.

So what would help?

Make it easier for students who graduate with a BA, Masters or PHD to get green cards and stay in the U.S.! Now we educate them and ship them out unless they marry a U.S. citizen or prove asylum approval. They are educated, have been in the U.S. for years, and generally speak and write English. So why not let them stay?

Before April 30, 2001 we let aliens who entered without inspection, aka illegal entrants, adjust status if they a penalty. We can do that again, and raise the penalty to...

We can hire and staff more immigration courts to decrease the almost 900,000 case backlog.

We should eliminate the one year bar for asylum claims to avoid wasted time and delay in proving why the claim was filed after one year in the immigration court proceedings.

We can give DACA dreamers green cards and a chance to become U.S. citizens. They are healthy, educated, law abiding and speak English.

Democrats would support these changes and pay for more security at the border if met halfway by Trump. But Trump would rather posture for 2020 than pass a law.
