Ah, a subject that warms my keyboard.

The matter at hand:

I wander into the UK room, and banter with a few of the long-serving members. One of them is a lovely lady, who I know is in a committed relationship.

Now, forgive me for saying so, but having known the woman on-line (only!) for Lord knows how long, and given the banter we have had since day one, I think I am okay to chat with her. I moderate the banter, and there are a few double entendres (it IS banter, after all), but nothing over-the-top or near the knuckle. No outright offers to dally, and no rude language. It is harmless, and we both seem to enjoy the chuckles.

Not according to her partner, who also comes into the room. Now, I have total respect for any people in relationships, and I think that anyone who knows me knows this. But, her partner sees fit to have a pop at me whenever I even enter the room, let alone speak to his missus! I've never met them, I don't intend to, and just would like to banter. He has a real issue with me talking to her. And, he refuses to explain this pathetic jealousy or whatever it is. He just acts like a munter. People in the UK room complain about certain people's behaviour, and his is just as bad.

I've got no problem in taking stick from people if I am being out of line. I've got no problem from someone having a pop, if they know me. But, for someone who I have never met, and never will, have never talked to, and never will, to accuse me of not respecting another's marital status and to just hurl abuse for the hell of it, well...it beggars belief.

Ah well, another one for the Iggy Bin, I guess...

Well....not been back to long, and seems I generate a fair bit of interest.

Now, why don't people respond when they are contacted on IMC? I know that women get somewhat inundated, but you'd think if someone showed a definite interest, they'd at least say 'No ta!'

LOL

Just thought I'd share this.

I got an email today, and it was written thus:

u sound rite nobhead.

My reply:

Several points to consider:

1. The views of a total stranger that has never met me are of miniscule concern to me.
2. Learn to type properly. "You sound like a right Knobhead" would be the proper sentence. I'm not sure if English is your native tongue, but I would try and learn it, if I was you.
3. You've been reported for sending abuse.

Have a great day.

Poolie.

Question: Was I too lenient/harsh on the poor buggers?
