hmmm... it's no fun being sick on the eve of my birthday Plus, my colleague has hinted to me this afternoon via YM that she's a bit worried if i decide to go on medical leave again tomorrow - which doc has given me, cause she's got her work cut out tomorrow, plus mine, she might not be able to cope. I told her, I'll let her know if am able to come in to work in the morning tomorrow.

So, how did i spend today? I spent it by going to the doctor in the morning to get my 2 days medical leave, came home, chat with my colleague at work, take medication, eat breakfast, take more medication, chat for another half hour, then sleep

Wake up in the afternoon and did the same rounds of medication and chatting on YM Am so happy that we are living in the cyber world, as i don't have to pick up the phone to talk to my colleague anymore. Just YM her to find out what's going in the office.

And now, it's 8.25pm and am feeling so groggy and tired. Have to eat another rounds of medication as well before sleep tonight. So, am just twiddling here twiddling there before sleep

Found out that my nephew had all As in his school exam, and he received a new cellphone from his dad for scoring in his exams. And the other nephew was circumcised today. Gosh, they're all growing up so fast. And am growing greyer lol

So, what's the best present have you ever had when you have been a good boy or excelled in school in your younger days??

Was surfing through the blog land this evening, and found a post by Torrie30 - Abusive Relationship, and it reminded me of this song, that i used to hum when i was younger. Never understood the lyrics, and couldn't comprehend the lyrics until early 2000. Then i realised what it really meant.

Anyway, just thought i'd share with you guys of one of my favourite songs. I hope that none of us have to go through what Torrie went through, and those who have, wishing that they're strong enough to move on and realised that it is worth it to build a new life, and enjoy life and live life the way they want to, and not the way others dictate it.

My name is Luca
I live on the second floor
I live upstairs from you
Yes, I think you've seen me before.
If you hear something late at night,
some kind of trouble some kind of fight
Just don't ask me what it was,
Just don't ask me what it was,
Just don't ask me what it was.

I think it's `cos I'm clumsy
I try not to talk too loud,
Maybe it's because I'm crazy
I try not to act too proud,
They only hit until you cry,
and after that you don't ask why
You just don't argue anymore,
You just don't argue anymore,
You just don't argue anymore.

Yes, I think I'm okay
Walked into the door again,
If you ask, that's what I'll say
and it's not your business anyway
I guess I'd like to be alone
with nothing broken, nothing thrown
Just don't ask me how I am,
Just don't ask me how I am,
Just don't ask me how I am.

Just a scarred heart,
Ash

Monday - 2 July 2007
Dont' remember what i did today, except for going to work and coming home from work. Anything else, i dont' remember..
Have you noticed that sometimes when we're too caught up with work and being socialable, that the week just go so fast that you have to think hard to remember events that happened just a few days ago.
I guess that's the reasons why we either keep a diary or we blog

Tuesday - 3 July 2007
Work - was so lazy at work. And found out i was not the only one who's lazy at work phew, am not alone here .
Then went out with WetP and SmoothGal for dinner in Bangsar, together with an old chatter whom i've not seen for many years. Had my banana fritters with ice cream .. yummy yummy

Wednesday - 4 July 2007
Date got cancelled Cause he was not well. hope he feels better now though.
Went out with WetP instead for our Keropok Lekor Had one plate each - no sharing basis

Thursday - 5 July 2007

Suddenly i sense that my boss has started a habit to give me work at 4:30pm!! now, i've got plenty of work to do for the rest of the week.
Anyway, went on a date with a kiwi friend, who's based in PNG He likes spicy food, so, took him to the punjabi restaurant in bangsar hehehehe

Friday - 6 July 2007
have started not feeling too good this morning. Dry throat. Was trying to shake it off.
Busy at work as usual. No time to chat either.
Had dinner with SmoothGal, Smooth's gf, Wetp & myself Then off we go to party. New kiwi friend joined us as well. The group that gathered that night were the old timers, those who have been around since 2000 as well as the new ones. Interesting mix actually.
Left the party at 12.30am, as was not up to yelling and screaming, as throat is hurting. Drinking Coke didn't help. Wish i could drink whisky straight up, been told that it's good for your throat

Saturday - 7 July 2007

Woke up with a very dry throat, and started coughing. Definitely am down with cough and cold. Finished work early, and went home.
Didn't go out with the girls, but met up with Gunner7 for mamak near my place - nice guy, though sometimes feel like i want to tape his mouth. Talk too much
But we had things in common, as we both came from JB. hehehe.. it was nice to note that the kindergarten i went to in 1976, is still around

Sunday - 8 July 2007

It's not so good that am sick the weekend before my actual birthday . had to go out as I had made arrangements for a date. So, with sore throat and blocked nose, i went out for a late breaky and extended to lunch. Nice fella. Might meet him when am in SG in August hehehehe

Anyway, might go on medical leave tomorrow.. too much work to do, but no choice. Oh well, am online with my colleague at work, can always transfer files to her via YM , as i did brought work home as well ..

Have a good week ahead everyone!!

The word steward can mean from a flight hostess in an airline, or someone that you employ in a household, or in the hotel industry, it can mean people who washes the plates and clean up the kitchen after the chefs done their mess.

So, what is the malay version of the steward in the hotel industry? Any guesses?

Those who managed to answer it correctly, will get a chance to win a dinner with yours truly in the near future...

Have fun!!

Oolong Tea

Another case of copy and paste from another blog post from K1W1_69's blog post. thought i'd share with you guys on this as well... especially to those who are tea lovers

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of Oolong tea. You will never look at a cup of Oolong the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed Oolong tea. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl.

Then she ladled the Oolong out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her , she asked, "Tell me what you see."

"Carrots, eggs, and Oolong tea," she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the to sip the Oolong. The smiled as she tasted its rich aroma The then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same

adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The Oolong tea was unique, however. After they were in the boiling water , they had changed the water color and taste.

"Which are you?" she asked her . "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a Oolong tea?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the Oolong tea? The tea actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the tea, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a Oolong tea?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.

Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

You might want to send this message to those people who mean something to you; to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life.

If you don't send it, you will just miss out on the opportunity to brighten someone's day with this message!

May we all be OOLONG TEA !!!!!!!!!

Am sure many of you have heard about my Advance Birthday Bash on 28 June 2007, which was a Thursday, and not on Friday like one of the girls thought she actually went to the place on Friday, and realised the bash was the day before.. damn.. i need to claim still for my birthday pressie.. lol

Anyway, how it all started ...

On Tuesday, 26 June 2007
- was told by wetp that a friend of ours is coming down from penang. we've not seen her for a long time and wetp wanted to do a welcome night back to kl for her on thursday, 28 June 2007
- was told again by wetp that klbunny wants to go out for banana leaf, since haven't seen her for more than 2 months, decided to have a gathering also on thursday, 28 june 2007
- was told also by wetp that ineedluv is in town and will be finishing her courses by thursday, and thought of inviting her as well for the gathering, so that we all can meet each other.
- I told wetp that since everyone is going to gather on thursday 28 June 2007, might as well i do my birthday bash on the same day too, and get it done and over with since i might probably be busy for the month of july
- at 8pm - met unclehk for dinner with smoothie and wetp
- at 9.30pm - met dm, jass, aber - told them that am going to do my birthday bash on thursday, 28 june 2007

On Wednesday, 27 June 2007
- wetp sent out invites
- was told by wetp that some people asked why so early, wetp said cause am busy in july .. which i will be, and wouldn't know when to fit in the birthday bash really. sorry guys.
- 11pm after meeting, went to meet the girls and former fellow chatter from penang... great to see both of you again. can't believe it that she has become so elegant in her dressing

On Thursday, 28 June 2007
- Advance Birthday Bash, and KL Group Gathering
- left work at 5pm cause i needed the snooze
- came out of the house, after 2 hours of snooze. Met the girls at that banana leaf place at 8.30pm. met up with shoops and Aber was still around, as he had extended his stay. am happy as he was able to join us for the birthday bash and meet other girls too
- slowly the crowd trickles in. had banana leaf rice with fried chicken .. yummy. KLBunny wondered why birthday girl had to pay for her own dinner.. anyone wants to reimburse me? lmao
- about 9.30 adjourned to the drinks session. i don't drink, so, i only drink coca cola
- uncle muffy did ask if i needed another drink, 3 times, and the third time i relented.. so, he bought me orange juice lol
- was introduced to the owner of the place, but she was disappointed when she couldn't buy me any drinks as i dont' drink anything with alcohol
- 12.10am, two small birthday cakes came out with 39 candles on top... blew them all off.. woohoo, but aber complaint i did it too fast.. so, no birthday girl and birthday cake picture for me But i got my peanut butter cheese cake!!! yippee!!!!
- the service staff opened up an area for us to dance. that was thoughtful of them. i guess it's easier for them to move tables and chairs and create a dance floor with a disco lights as well, as there were not many people, as ours was the biggest group they had for a Thursday night.
- smoothie and wetp bought me strawberry margarita and they told me it was just ice blended strawberry without any alcohol!!! yeah right!
- drank it, but shared the drink with aber, as i knew there was alcohol in it went dancing with the girls and came back to the table. Aber seems to like it and had left for me the tail end of the drink to finish off. He went to sleep soon after
- finally get our butts off from the place at 3am.
- all in all it was a great outing without the flaming lamborghini hehehe
- to everyone who attended the party, thank you very much for the good times, and the pressies received, and thank you in advance for the pressies that i've yet to receive lol

On Friday, 29 June 2007
- was falling asleep at my workplace lol

On Saturday, 30 June 2007

- was told that one of the chatters had gone to the drinks session place on friday, cause she thought the birthday bash was on friday, and not on thursday..

Next Birthday Bash is end of July!!!

Hugs, & Kisses, Ash

As most of you are aware, am planning to celebrate my birthday in July , which is not that far off...

Anyway, so, the question is what are the chances would you find people in this world, who are celebrating the same birthday as you are?

Recently, i've met 2 people who so happened to have the same birthday as i am i.e. 10 July oooh.. this is so cool.

One of them is my colleague, so i might buy him a little token
And the other is an american guy who's based in Bangkok, and he is on AdultFriendFinder ..

So, the statistics says :

As of July 2007 estimated World's Population is at 6,602,224,175:

How many people celebrate the same birthday as you do in the World?

6,602,224,175 / 365 days = 18,088,285.41

How many people celebrate the same birthday as you do in the Country?
18,088,285.41 / 194 countries = 93,238.58

How many of them are in AdultFriendFinder? Based on AdultFriendFinder's details, they say that there are 197,490 members from Malaysia!! Does it mean that everyone on AdultFriendFinder has the same birthday as i do??? This is truly amazing! Wishing all of you HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

So, what do you think of the above statistics?

Have you met anyone that has the same birthday as you do?

Nite nite everyone,
ASH

RED ROSES

I received an email from a good buddy of mine in Buffalo, USA. And i think it was a beautiful poem and quite a meaningful poem.. So, this poem goes out to the people who are looking and dream how it could and would be some day...

Each year he sent her roses,
And the note would always say,
I love you even more this year,

Than last year on this day.
My love for you will always grow,
With every passing year."
She knew this was the last time
That the roses would appear.
She thought, he ordered roses
In advance before this day.

Her loving husband did not know,
That he would pass away.
He always liked to do things early,
Way before the time.
Then, if he got too busy,
Everything would work out fine.

She trimmed the stems and
Placed them in a very special vase.
Then, sat the vase beside
The portrait of his smiling face.

She would sit for hours,
In her husband's favorite chair.
While staring at his picture,
And the roses sitting there.

A year went by, and it was
To live without her mate.
With loneliness and solitude,
That had become her fate.

Then, the very hour,
The doorbell rang, and there
Were roses sitting by her door.

She brought the roses in,
And then just looked at them in shock.

Then, went to get the telephone,
To call the florist shop.

The owner answered, and she asked him,
If he would explain, Why would someone would
Do this to her, causing her such pain?

"I know your husband passed away,
More than a year ago,"

The owner said,
"I knew you'd call, and you would want to know.
The flowers you received today,
Were paid for in advance.
Your husband always planned ahead,
He left nothing to chance.
There is a standing order,
That I have on file down here,
And he has paid, well in advance,
You'll get them every year.

There also is another thing,
That I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card...he did this years ago.
Then, should ever I find out that he's no longer here,
that's the card that should be sent to you the following year."

She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard.

Her fingers shaking,
As she slowly reached to get the card.
Inside the card, she saw that he
Had written her a note.

Then, as she stared in total silence,
This is what he wrote...

"Hello my love, I know it's been a year
Since I've been gone.
I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to
Overcome.

I know it must be lonely,
And the pain is very real.
Or if it was the other way,
I know how I would feel.

The love we shared made everything
So beautiful in life.
I loved you more than words can say,
You were the perfect wife.

You were my friend and lover,
You fulfilled my every need.

I know it's only been a year,
But please try not to grieve.

I want you to be happy,
Even when you shed your tears.
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years.

When you get these roses,
Think of all the happiness that we had together,
And how both of us were blessed.

I have always loved you and
I know I always will.

But, my love, you must go on,
You have some living still.

Please...try to find happiness,
While living out your days.

I know it is not easy,
But I hope you find some ways.

The roses will come every year,
And they will only stop,
When your door's not answered,
When the florist stops to knock.

He will come five times that day,
In case you have gone out.

But after his last visit,
He will know without a doubt!
To take the roses to the place,
Where I've instructed him
And place the roses where we are,
Together once again.

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend;
Someone who changes your life
Just by being part of it.

Someone who makes you laugh
Until you can't stop;

Someone who makes you believe
That there really is good in the world.

Someone who convinces you
That there really is an unlocked door
Just waiting for you to open it.

This is Forever Friendship.
This is the sacred RED ROSE.

Below is an old traditional recipe of a food in Johor called "BOTOK-BOTOK". It's sort of similar to "Pais Ikan". So, since am still on Green Day subject, i thought this recipe is good as they uses the greens too

Bahan-Bahan:
3 keping ikan tenggiri @ 3 ekor ikan kembong
3 bungkus rempah kari ikan
5 ulas bawang merah*
4 ulas bawang putih*
2 batang serai*
2 inci halia*
2 inci lengkuas*
2 sudu kerisik
3 biji limau nipis
Garam dan gula secukup rasa * Dikisar
½ cekak pucuk bebuas
½ cekak pucuk kadok
½ cekak pucuk ubi kayu
½ cekak pucuk mengkudu
½ cekak pucuk puding
½ cekak daun cekur
2 helai daun kunyit - diracik
4 - 5 sudu pati santan
3 helai daun pisang untuk membungkus

Cara:
1. Bersihkan ikan dan toskan.

Amat menyelerakan.

Note to D33NH - you can find it at Pasar Larkin
