Tendrils twining

Will sunflower turn us, will clematis
Stray down, bend us, tendril and spray
Clutch and cling?

—T.S. Eliot, "Burnt Norton" Collected Poems 1909-1962

Tendrils Twining
written January 21st, 2021

Tendrils twining
tightly around
pulling towards?
or away?
or apart into pieces?
wrapped tightly
by tendrils twining
these cherished treasures
I have been pulled into
resting here held safe
while the world builds around
over them and and us
until we are seen no more
known no more
remembered no more
tendrils twining
tightly around.

MrWrong used the word "tendrils" in a story, and I fall in love with words. Then I found the same word in a poem I was reading. It is nice to just let go and see where the words go.

Looked up Tendrils, its a plant that clings to walls, fences tree's, other plants.
My garden is getting invited by a curtain binding weed, that left untouched will cover the entire garden 3 foot thick.
I pull them up when I see them crawling from my next doors garden.
Nice poem.
I'm dyslexic and hate reading bib blocks of print, makes my eyyes go funny.
Nice shot paragraphs is perfect.

There are definitely weeds that can be problems. We have kudzu here, which is a green vine that can take over whole trees and areas of woods. Not a good thing. I also grew up with Clematis which is a flower that we had growing up a trellis by the house. Dyslexia is tough. We find ways to manage things and do what we need to in life. I have a math learning disability. Much easier to manage as an adult than when I was in school. Thank you for reading me and responding!
