Lockdown fever - pt 6: Old flame
What do you do when you're stuck on solo lockdown, and how do you keep both the skills up and the frustration at bay? I started shooting a three-part scene (to be revealed in due course) but in the process decided to do an edited version for the Home Alone contest thing on here. Below is the uncropped version of my entry image, along with a pic showing how I set the shot up (but not how I subsequently spent a good hour cleaning wax off everything in the room!).

I'd spent a while (and drank a bottle of wine) trying to work out how to set the pic up, and had been experimenting with different angles, different candles, and different lighting. Yes, that is a stuffed pair of old jeans on a spare tripod lol.

I'd also noticed that my small front spotlight picked up an interesting shadow from the top edge of the black backsheet which, combined with my vase of sticks, created a shadow theatre style wilderness on the wall. It seemed fitting as a symbolic, dreamlike representation of this strange lockdown world we've been living in, contrasting with the warm colour temp of the erotic candle substitute BJ in the foreground.

And yes, trying to shoot a self portrait in near darkness, with a lit candle and while blindfolded is an interesting but somewhat perilous experience.

 Well worth the wait from when you told me about this shoot, love the lighting effect on your skin, those subtle shadows highlighting your cheek and gorgeous contours.
Missing the sexy interaction too! Who knows perhaps one day?

I do hope that wax didn't drip on anything sensitive.
