Vacations

If anyone had asked me a few years ago where my ideal vacation would be, I would have said Belize. But recently I have decided that although Belize would be a great vacation, I can sit on a beach here in the US for a lot less money.

Currently, my ideal vacation would be Iceland. I would love to see the Northern Lights, see some geysers, see where the tectonic plates come together, hang out in the Blue Lagoon and smear that mineral mud all over my skin. I've seen the pictures and videos and think that I would be much happier visiting Iceland than any other place. I like the idea of seeing all these natural wonders.

It seems a little pricey for me though. I looked into booking a trip with guided tours of the country but they charge extra if you are single. WTF? Someone who goes by themselves takes up less room and eats less food so why charge more for a single person going on a trip?

Maybe someday. At least it is something to look forward to and work toward.

 Cruises do that too, though they're starting to break away and have single person accomodations.
Usually it's because like on a cruise ship they charge two in a room per each person, so they have to make that up if you're taking up both spots. Kind of like buying an extra seat on the plane to have extra space is how I'd equate it.

 Very nice goals you have for vacation. Hopefully someday, and soon, you will achieve that. I've seen the northern lights here in PA one time, but they are not the same as in Iceland or Alaska. Yeah, whats up with paying more if you are single? I'm sure they can give you a stupid reason that really makes no sense.
