Blocking I don't know how others feel about this, but I'm going to try and explain how I feel about this. The Block feature on this site can be used wisely or as a game I guess. I don't like to block people, but I do feel it is necessary from time to time. I also believe that the Block feature is a different experience for women and men. The ratio of men to women on here, as everyone knows, is extremely skewed. So women get inundated with emails, chat requests, and visitors to their profile. With that comes the gamut of personality types. For some women, their experience on here is like a dream come true and for others any given day could be a complete nightmare. For me, I experience the nightmare more often than not. So far I have had to block 3 people. I did so because two were verbally abusive in their first message to me. The third person I blocked because he kept sending harassing messages after I told him I was not interested. And the thing with the third person is that he wasn't even messaging me because he liked my profile. He was offended and hurt by what I said in my profile so he began harassing me. I prefer to just block these types and not report them to AdultFriendFinder Admin. I have no idea how men handle this stuff or even if they have the same stuff to deal with that women on here deal with. I don't think the Block feature should be used like a game or because you have a difference of opinion with someone. That said, all interactions with others should be respectful. I would add good taste, but that is like squeezing blood from a stone. Most on here have no idea what good taste is so that's a moot point. Just use the Block feature when it is necessary and not because your little ego was hurt. |
