Well, it would be real nice if one could be told why they get their complete profile and all their blogs banned supposedly for plagiarizing something, when there is no proof whatsoever to show this. As far as I know, anything posted in an open forum is subjsect to be used and unless it has a registered copyright per document, can not be considered as such and if a person claims to have a copyright on said material, they must show proof of said copyright.

To say someone plagiarized something, without giving proof, and then removing someone from the site is just wrong.

First of all, we do enjoy the addition of the polls, very much. It adds another dimension to our daily blogs.

Hopefully, the ability to insert our own pictures or graphics, instead of our main profile picture being the default, will be forthcoming for the polls.

I haven't tried it yet, but an underline message command, added to the others, would be a plus also (just thought I'd try it).

We look forward to the forthcoming additions and changes.

I've gone through and read the comments again. A few things I noticed are people who think the blogs should just be for gold and silver members and in the case of one newbie who seems to do nothing on his blog but bitch that he's been here for weeks and isn't getting any action, not even silver members should have functionality. A bit elistist that we can afford what others can't? Some of my favorite blogs are written by standard members. For some standard members, some who have been here for years, the blogs are about the only way they can get noticed. Some are incredibly talented writers, too. Gold and silver members have perks in the rest of the site that standard members don't have. There's no reason to be elistist in the blogs too.

I'm against things like media players and weird backgrounds. If a person wants My Space functionality, go to My Space. Then you can use all the crap that crashes the browsers and computers of others and brings cable and DSL connections to a damned standstill. Bad idea. Take a look at My Space profiles on a computer that isn't exactly brand new and doesn't have a gig of RAM. In general, they pages all look like prime textbook examples of how not to design a website. Basically, I won't even ready my friend's My Space blogs, as the last thing I want is to hit a blog and have crap rock or some obnoxious voice greeting blast from my speakers.

I personally have nothing against the top bloggers list. I don't read all the top bloggers, however, I have noticed since the new way of calculating unique comments, a lot of comment whores, who were basically spamming their own blogs have dropped off the list. So I do like the unique comments method. Going by the number of views means nothing. If you look at the list, the people who at the top of the list get more views than anyone else anyway. But if it went by views, when blog jam is going on, some idiot who has nothing posted but, "Why aren't women falling on my dick?" might be at the top of the recent bloggers list and can end up on the top bloggers list, simply because everyone is clicking the post to see what time blogs were last updated. That's no more content than, "What do you think of my latest tit pic?"

Another thing about the top bloggers list is, if you leave intelligent comments in the blogs of the top bloggers, that are ON TOPIC, chances are more people are going to click on your blog. That was something I learned my first week of blogging. That is true of any site with blogs, be it here, My Space, Live Journals, Blogger. You can't just make a post and expect everyone to flock to it. You have to make yourself visible. Then again, if you want people to read your blog, you have to have content and it has to be readable.

But case in point about disappearing comments... I had made a second comment with other blog concerns, which others have addressed at this point. It told me it was there after I hit post, but it never appeared. But a few things I mentioned were:

The request review button. In some cases, one hit of the button can cause a comment or post to disappear. Yet when someone makes a truly abusive comment, such as something that was going on here with an abusive member a few months ago, his comments weren't disappearing from any blogs. But the request review button on blogs, which should be a free speech zone, aren't necessary. If you don't like what a person says, don't read their blogs. If you don't like a comment, if you're the blog owner, hit delete and ban the person. But we are all supposed to be adults here. The word adult doesn't just mean pornographic content. Mature topics aren't just sex. To go around reporting people's blog posts and comments of those you don't like or have a personal vendetta against is far from mature, adult behavior. It is grade school behavior.

The moods. I agree with everyone else. There are lots of moods I wish were listed that aren't, such as amazed, bemused, underwhelmed. But examinate is on the list? Not even competing dictionaries can agree on what that word means.

Banned words annoy me, especially since we're not privy to the list of words the spider is looking for. As we are supposed to all be mature, adults here, there should be no banned words.

I have a couple of suggestions.

1. I would like a section on the main blog page that states which posts on my blog that have new comments. I usually don't look past the first couple of pages but I have found a few posts that were further back. Also I think many here would post comments to older blog posts if it were set up that way.

2. I kinda feel guilty asking this one since I don't have a paid account right now, but could you consider hiring a couple more people to approve posts. (BTW I know someone who practically lives on the site who would love the job)

If blogging was changed to favor the paying members, you would certainly lose me as a paying member.

I see the benefits of having Gold status as largely in unrestricted searching and profile viewing. Blogging is kind of superfluous to that, although I now spend most of my AdultFriendFinder time on the blogs.

One of the great things about blogs is that they're essentially egalitarian. Lose that, and you will lose the spur that drives so many of the great writers around here to keep posting.

The popularity lists should stay as is, although it might be good to allow different sorts of it (most popular in the last month, most popular new blogs, most popular couples' blogs, etc). The benefit of the popularity list is that it gives a good starting point to discover some of the most interesting writers and/or people with intriguing stories to tell. Yes, it does favor those who have been blogging longer, or who are better at networking, but blogging is never going to be entirely fair.

I believe that people who have something to say will eventually generate their own audiences who, in turn, will spread the word. It's that egalitarian thing again.

Videos, sounds and other geegaws aren't really going to enhance the blogging experience, in my view. At least give those of us who don't feel it necessary the ability to not have to see/hear those sorts of things.

Having said that, more space for images would be nice. Or the option of seeing an image larger, at least.

Regarding the topic of video, animation and customization of blogs like myspace; I will agree with most in that I don't like it. But it will be something that I will use in my evaluation if I will watch a blog. If it is designed poorly and is slow, I just will not go back. BTW: you don't have to worry about the video and pix wasting the AdultFriendFinder bandwidth. That extra stuff is referenced to other websites and will not impact the AdultFriendFinder bandwidth.

luvpump, thanks for stepping up to the plate and allowing us to toss a few pitches up, and of course, AT you. Red Badge of Courage Award !!

I am surprised that there are only 8 pages of comments on/over your PLATE so far. Boy wait 'til the weekend!!!!

Great addition, identifying the age/sex of all listed blogs.

Changing the popularity list counting method, change is good, and the new counting method is a great method of indicating viewer interest, for whatever reason.

A couple of suggestions, some of the Ladies do not want to be on the most watched list, for whatever their reason, some sort of "exempt me from the listing" option. The Ladies who prefer not to be overwhelmed with the attention in their mailboxes might appreciate this.

If you are considering some sort of restrictive membership into the blogs, require only having to have paid for a membership once for a 1 month period, thereafter when paid period ends you are "grandfathered" in! Of course new members would not have to pay for the access for the 1st thirty days, to "set the Hook" and show the unique addvantages of blogging.
Or just a one time, nominal fee for the std members to access the blogs, would partially compensate the site for the daily maintenance required in the blogs.

Again thanks for the opportunity to make suggestions!

I agree with so many things already mentioned and would like to reinforce that with a few "quotes" copied/pasted here....and I'll apologize in advance for not mentioning whose words these are because there are many....who I agreed with in particular. I was going to bring up the speed issue of when blogs/comments show up....but that appears to have been greatly improved.

(1) Save draft's: allow us to save blog entries as a draft to continue it later.

(2) View All to Most Recent Visitors

(3) Delete Inactive Blogs after say 180 days??? <<~~~~ Or some sort of time...90 days... 60 days...but definitely old blogs should be removed and stored somewhere else, or maybe a friendly "reminder" sent to that member/blogger...such as your blog has had no activity for "x" amount of days/weeks/months...please update or delete it. Maybe something to that effect.

(4) When you disapprove a blog, can you please give us a detailed explanation to our mailbox as to why so we can have the choice of amending it if we can... somtimes the rationale for it does not make sense at all.<<~~~~ This one I agree with big time....and not only that...but what's up with a post that has been "approved"....and been visible for days...and has comments....then all of a sudden it's "disapproved"? Oh...and what about certain pictures. IE: DaphneR at times will want to use a picture of a rodent, but apparently... it gets denied each and every friggin time? Does AdultFriendFinder have a problem with mice? Surely that can't be an offensive picture...and since she's unable to use it, I have no idea what in the world could've been so bad.....FFS....there are oh so many pics that I would think would raise more than and eyebrow or 2....yet they fly on by and are allowed to stay.

(5) To be able to switch of commenting on one post and not on others. sometimes I post things I don't want comments on, but if I switch off comments it affects the entire blog.<<~~~~ Yep, this would be cool... cuz sometimes there might be something special you want to post....that really doesn't require feedback.

(6) How about the ability to leave "private" or "personal" comments on a blog post? Included with that of course is the ability to "block" comments from certain or specific members. <<~~~~ Yep, this would be cool...

(7) "Most Recent Responses by Others", but most of the responses listed are comments made by me in response to other people's comments. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but within my own blog, I am not an 'Other', I am the originator of my drivel. Thus, my comments within my own blog should not show up in this list. <<~~~~ Yep...I rather see who left the last comment, not my handle.

( The ability to enter hyperlinks using [link][/link] syntax. If you're blogging about current events its polite to refer back to sources. <<~~~~Yes...because there are times I've read something on a blog and would want to be able to use a link to check it out...and then be able to return back to the blog.

(9) Ability to change/edit a comment after it has been posted. <<~~~~Yes...because there are times I've messed something up and being ever so anal about stuff like that, just drives me nuts. I do think that it's up to the blog host to delete a comment.

(10) Who put the 1 millionth post on the blogs and where is my free year's subscription for doing it? lol Contests-prizes-motivation--where are the fireworks/bells and whistles? <<~~~~ Once a week or once a month I think it would be cool if AdultFriendFinder chose a blog/blogger to "feature"...and not just one of the most popular of the blogs as in that damn list. Featuring the blog/comment of the millionth post would be too hard to keep up with as people do delete and/or hide a post or maybe someone has removed their entire blog...so the numbers would just fluxuate way too much.

(11) At the bottom of each page of comments there is the number of pages for that post, it would be nice if the number of pages of comments were at the top of each page also. That way you wouldn't have to scroll to the bottom of the page to change pages.<<~~~ Also, I think it would be nice to be able to create a list on the front page of our blog that will allow you to bookmark certain post's that you want to keep visible for one reason or another...instead of having to go thru all the work of creating an index post just to link to those posts...or other peoples post. I sometimes want to bring attention to someone elses post, without having to create a post.... if that makes sense.

(12) The new layout of author/blog title is harder to read than before. <<~~~~ it is very difficult to read.

(13) Being able to customize which sections (and in what layout) pop up in my blog would be nice. <<~~~~ Tag World has a pretty cool way to express yourself and create your blog to fit your personality. They use "modules"....that can be arranged in all sorts of manner...along with columns. Drag and drop.

(14) Audio music clips or videos <<~~~ Allow us to have 1 music clip that can be muted and/or turned off by the individual reader to a persons blog. IE: allow 1 clip that we can use as our "theme"....but not have it play automatically. Let each reader decide if they want to listen to the blog owners music....and/or video. I personally would prefer just music...with a limited library to choose from...like maybe 3 or 4 songs.

(15) kevnico<<~~~~I am mentioning this one cuz he does have a lot of valid points.

Make the blog owner take more responsibility for their blog

What I mean is that all comments on a particular blog should be placed into a queue for the blog owner to approve. This feature should resolve many outstanding requests, complaints, and problems, like:

1. The blog owner gets to see all new comments, thereby eliminating the need to provide additional links to all of the ‘new’ comments deep within a blog. No more complaining that they can’t find all new comments in their blog.

2. The owner can then make a reply to the comment that would immediately follow the comment, thus preventing the need for the subsequent viewers to scroll back to see the comment to which an owner replying. This could also reduce the amount of ‘quote’ usage, at least by the owner.

3. The blog owner gets to delete any abusive or derogatory comments before the entire world gets to see the offending remarks. Once the feature is up and running, much of the abuse in the blogs would come to a grinding halt since the abuser would have no audience before the blogger sees the comment, particularly since most abuser thrive on the exposure. Remove the exposure vehicle. I believe this would eliminate tons of feedback to Abuse and CSD since the blogger would be the only one that presents feedback, if desired, and most of that feedback would dwindle over time as the feature matures in usage. Additionally, if the blogger chooses to allow offending comments to be viewed by the public at large, then they really have no recourse to bitch and complain to CSD and Abuse for any ensuing commotion in blogland.

4. The blog owner can then become AdultFriendFinder’s first line of defense on comment approval, if so desired by the site. This could free up thousands of site personnel man-hours currently wasted reading (or not reading) every flagged comment. Assume that if the blogger does not have a history of rules violation, then the blogger is capable of ensuring that the comments are appropriate. The current electronic review can still flag potential problematic comments to the blog owner for closer scrutiny. The owner can then decide if the rule is indeed violated. Additionally, (and this is not a necessary feature) it could be possible for the blog owner to censor a particular portion of the comment (clearly indicated as censored when published) or possibly(?) send the comment back to the originator for correction.
<<~~~~ I really like the idea of being able to be more in control....I think that in some cases it will eliminate hostility and harrassment....unless you want to have a heavier debate over an issue.

(16) Something else I would really like to see…maybe a premium member perk. I DO NOT LIKE the fact that I am listed as a lesbian. Nothing against them but if you search my screen name I show up on that site name. Also, as much as I enjoy being able to view the blogs without logging in, I don’t care for that kind of exposure.<<~~~~Big time DITTO...not to mention, I am also found under all sorts of bizarre catagories that isn't even remotely me....and I hope to hell not to have to ever need to explain it to someone like my mom or my daughter....or ??? anyone else of importance.

(17) Any additional artistic personalizing of blogs available could be nothing but good both from the bloggers' perspectives and the readers' perspectives. Increase interest=increase readership=increase traffic=increase business. <<~~>>and -the option to upload pictures on your blogs, aside from the little one at the side
-more choices of smilies
-maybe a template so each person has the option to create an atmosphere to their liking
-a friends list at the side for quick access and for others to access as well <<~~>>and~~>> think it would be fantastic to be able to have a feature where we could left/right justify or (more importantly) CENTER our words and/or pics! I think that it would be great for people like me who LOVE to use color in their posts to be able to just open up a link to a separate box (like the smilies) to be able to pick out colors instead of typing the names of the colors in! Is there an underlining feature I'm not aware of? I'd like to be able to underline or highlight (kinda like highlighters do in real life...lol) text instead of having just bold and italics as options! <<~~>>and~~>> would love to see us bloggers able to use the standard html for making tables, marquees, backgrounds and use of wallpapers as backgrounds too. <<~~~~I love these ideas...and since I spend 99.99% of the time in Blogland, would love to see how others personalize their blog. I think it would give more of us an insight to their personality. I know I would like to show more of my personality...other than just colored font and different sizes. Also, allow more font styles...for times when you want a certain post to reflect a certain mood.

(18 ) Regarding the "lists"....I think they should be random. Every time you refresh the page a new list is generated, or a few drop off like maybe 10-15 and replaced with 10-15 more. Same with the "slots". Personally, I would get a kick out of seeing my pic in the slots, I've been told others have seen it, but I haven't yet. But as far as the most popular list... I don't pay any attention to it ever. I do see it, but could give a rip whose on it and/or how high on the list they are. It doesn't influence what or who I read.

Thank you Andrew for allowing us all to have a chance and a place to share our opinions about the blogs.

To a great deal of us, Blogland is and has become a very important part of our individual lifes.... because many of us have found truly good/great people and have become friends that very well may last a life time....and some of us have even been able to find love. Not to mention the many, many times when someone has been going through a rough period in their life and really need someplace to pour out all those thoughts and/or feelings....and recieve the support that is often times shown unconditionally by the other bloggers.

Thanks for the improvements made thus far and also thanks in advance for the improvements yet to come.

-go back to a female/ male/couple list ( PRIORITY)

- expand the slots, smaller pics if you need to maybe double it?

-if your going to do polls, you may want to have a show/don't show votes, others...let you decide if you can choose one or more answers, post a picture, how long to keep it going, post results, etc...

_ like the edit your own posts on others, and preview posts on yours and others.

-like to change background, colors, personalize blog more.
_ like to be able to scroll through the vistors log on our blog, and recently posted by others.

_ instead of the other blogs people who read this liked- let us send bloggers to our favorite blogs...

_ have an index on blogs( not a post) where bloggers can link their favorite posts.

- be able to move our favorite watched list- shuffle it as we want too.

_show new posts on all pages, maybe a new post scroll to go too...

what is a super blogger??

Some of the most watched bloggers are not paying.

New suggestions regarding the polls....let them have their own 'home' like the blogs do and the advice lines (or magazine) - but allow people to create them and link to them from their blog.

BTW, I created this poll about whether the polls should have time limits....I don't know about anyone else, but I get tired of seeing the same polls on that list. I am sure it is because some people will vote on anything that is right in front of them; which would make that list rarely change, if ever.

Hopefully people will vote and express their opinions; perhaps you'll find the results interesting. This will probably be my last poll:

some random thoughts...

- don't pit the "I pays " against the "I don'ts"...there is enough drama here in Blogland...(we don't need anymore Blog Wars).

_ Can you please make the deleted posts just stay deleted? ( a major annoyance and housekeeping task)

_Bloggers should be able to hide thier blog(like a profile) if they want/need a break- and then resume it whenever they come back.

Thanks for the seconds on the soapbox.

I have been thinking about something lol, at first I was all for being able to change your comments in another person's blog, on the surface sounds like a great idea. Especially for things like spelling mistakes etc. But there is potential problem with that.

If someone comes into your blog and makes a statement that lets say is not so flattering or nice. You respond to it, to correct them or debate an issue or whatever. If they then have the ability to change that orginal comment, then the words, their words that were orginaly there for all to see, can be removed by them. I am big believer in letting stand for all to see someone's comments good or bad as a record to how they conduct themselves. If we have the ability to change what we say in another's blog, those who post comments that are not well received can just go and change them and claim they never said them to begin with. See where I'm going with that?

So I have revised my stance on the issue of being able to change, or alter if you will, the comments I may place elsewhere besides my own blog. If I'm going to say it I guess I had better make darn sure that what I'm saying the first time, is the message I want to convey.

Don't know if it's to late to comment here. I'm new to blogging, so I'm still trying to feel my way around.

My thought, in the "my watched blogs" column, why put the blog you've just read on the top of the list? Why can't it go on the bottom and have the other's you haven't read move up one slot? Would make it much easier to read, especially if you are watching more than there is space for there and have to go to a second page to see them.

Sir
what is happening with the photos on each comment... nothing but silhoettes, at least on mine....sigh...

And the friends network...please check it out
I cant display the entire list.
and it wont let me edit (add or delete)...
that needs work .
also why do we have to add all of those requested
and then go back and delete the ones that you dont wish to have on your network.
Seems like something simple but I am sure it isnt.

Also....
Posting to my blog ...it took at least 2 hours on my last post, I gave up and went to bed. There was nothing questionable there...

I do appreciate and realize the scope of the work that is being done.

ohhhh ....one more thing...
maybe a hot list for things that arent working should be made.... Like right now the smilies icons are not coming up.

Take care.... Margaret

I have an issue I have held back from suggesting since I know it maybe just my own problem....

When I have a member that I want to ban, as from my email or from the views of my profile, because of some crude or vulgar statement ...why cant I merely delete their photo from my views list...instead of having to wait for 30 days, for4 it to cycle off...why cant that be included in the 'new listing' that you have for adding a person to your banned list.

I hope that is clear..lol~rolls eyes~
have a great week...
