I had the 'standard member contact' feature for sometime.It DOES recognize the number of mails,And limits them per the limits of the 'membership abilities' program~Thus limiting/preventing spamming.
Otherwise I agree with you IF it is a valid point he makes.

The A/B test is a LIE. It is possible that someone has told you that to deceive you or else you have invented that to deceive us.

There is not a single “Standard member” with Privileges of Popularity” who can send messages to members whom they had not previously contacted. We can continue conversations already in place and can answer messages we receive but cannot initiate new conversations as it was allowed with “Popularity Privileges” I insist, NOBODY can. Does this mean that in this so called A/B test we are all B and there is not a single A? Please do not pull our leg anymore, Please.

This is a new programming error from the technical staff. One of the many errors they make. And, as always, they have made up the most stupid excuse so they won’t have to admit that they not know how to do their work.

This site does a good business with the standard membership. It sells publicity thanks to the thousands of standard members. Many other members pay their membership because there are many standards members whom to contact with a paid membership.nAre you going to fix your error or are you going to drive all standard members away?

Now hang on a minute there mate... you can't go around calling people liars without a much better case than your vague allegations... that is a personal insult, which I, for one find offensive ! We may have disagreements, but I think we should stick to debating the issue, rather than personal insults.

So, to the issue :

1) How do you know that '"not a single" Standard has the ability to initiate email with Gold (with Standards can contact) ??? I have not heard an uproar elsewhere, perhaps the testing is regional or language based, I don't know. How do you speak for the whole site ? Every single member ?

2) The information you refer to, back in November, may have been correct at that time, and later the position changed. It could be entirely true today, we do not have a full explanation, the situation is ongoing... that does not mean anyone is lying.

3) There are suggestions that it is a bug.. certainly there is/was a bug relating to this.

There are also suggestions that the site has changed it's policy regarding Standards abilities without telling anybody or admitting it.

Which one is it that you believe / want answered ???

4) Incidentally, did you notice the part where Community stated that the site are considering increasing Standards abilities in some areas, including viewing profiles and initiating contact that way ???

If we can get the nature of your point clear, and the logical question resulting from it, then I am sure we can get an answer as to the current position. This is how we try to do things in order to progress matters and reach a conclusion

I have not called anyone a liar, nor have I insulted anyone. I have only said that the A/B test is a big lie and I reiterate that it is a big lie.
All the argumentation seems to be well thought out, but there seems to be one problem, it does not hold up to what’s happening here.
I will answer point by point:

1. Many standard members with Popularity Privileges are protesting in this post because suddenly and without previous notice we can no longer send the messages allowed by Popularity Privileges. Doesn’t it seem odd to you that not a single standard member with Popularity Privileges has spoken up to say that he/she can do it? I’ll tell you something else. It is true that I have not polled ALL the standard members with Popularity Privileges on this site but I can assert that I have consulted with many, almost 50. Not a single one of those 50 whom I have polled can send messages to members with whom they had not had previous conversations. If you want to further argue on this issue, there is an easy way to do it. I propose that you find 50 members, with Popularity Privileges, who can claim that they can send messages to members with whom they have never had previous contact. If you can do it, then come back to further discuss this. I assure you that you will be wasting your time because the A/B test is a big lie.

2. In November the answer was that it was possibly a “bug” and the situation has not changed heretofore. Do you mean to tell me that what could have been a programming error last November and now you have decided to leave it like that and not to fix it? That is possible, you are right. But then, that means that the issue with the A/B test is a Big lie.

3. Everybody is free to believe something different. I only answer in regards to what I believe. I am sure that there is a bug and I always have said that. That is why the question I pose for Aryana is, “Are you going to fix the bug or is this a policy change for standard members with Popularity Privileges?” Have I failed to express myself well? I ask again, “Are you going to correct this or are you going to leave it as is, clear as mud.”

4. No, I only know that before I could send/initiate messages and now I can’t, because of a programming error they want me to believe is an A/B test. We can talk about other issues when this question, which is the only one that concerns me now, is clarified.

But, let me tell you. In the many years that I have been on this site I have observed how technical staff has done the same thing over and over again. Every time the slightest change is introduced, everything begins to go wrong and they fail to accept their mistakes until hundreds of members protest and protest. When this happens, sometimes they fix the mistake but do not admit that it is a mistake until after it has been fixed. Always, and I mean, ALWAYS, they try to blame the member who protests. It wasn’t going to be any different this time.

 Popularity privileges standard members were giving access to 50 member profiles and email privileges to them as well. But using the New Message Center these emails can not be sent. Is this a policy change or a new bug?
