How do you feel about "Find A Hookup?"

Anyone who believes that the current marketing campaign is anything new...and hasn't been railed about in the past...really needs to do some research. All of the past dust-ups are on this blog and the Live Group and the Site Support Blog...Porting our profiles is completly covered in the TOU of this site...We all agreed to the terms when we signed up...you are all free to go to those sites and login with your ID and turn it off or delete it...Now...the subject at hand was..."How do you feel about Find A Hookup?" Personally I think it stinks...

But - let me tell you something .. ladies this is site advertising - the above is from Sept 09 .. and it could be far worse. We just don't see it unless you are a man.... Gentlemen funny how your proper outrage is being displayed in kudos and cheers to this issue.. when it was a phrase... The question was how do you feel about the phrase .. but YOU see these sorts of adverts regularly from this site ... and either until now you accepted them as your due, understood they are adverts and just moved on .. but very few ( actually ONLY one man ) stepped forward to share these 'blasts from the past failures of ad copy from a female perspective". It jut seems that the outrage is a little overwrought when your options are simple and clear ~ [blog kelidgh]~ I am, indeed

This is dead wrong.  I took a look at Live From AFF and read all the way back through May's posts. I didn't see anything that was related to "most of the issues raised here". I saw issues about fake profiles, weird and erroneous messages, problems in how thing looked on that page, group posts and blog posts not posting properly (or not posting at all), solicitations and feedback on the beta site but nothing on the issue (because there is only one issue being raised here). I didn't see anything about how women are depicted and described in the marketing copy for this site or how women's profiles have been copied over to other sites to boost. I didn't see anything Can you point me towards those posts in case I missed them? In case you are not sure what people are upset about, I posted on it This Is What People Are Upset Over Something else I saw in that group is that apprently there are regular Q and A sessions that are held with Ryan and other members of the Various, Inc staff. It would be great if he could solicit questions from this group as well and post the answers here as well so more people could benefit from it. I hope this clears things up for you. The rough out issues on the BETA site testing was a general conversation -I participate and take notes - so NOT every word is documented. Actually .. the notes on those posts are directly related to questions asked that week. Beta has a test group - and there are threads there including several pages of feedback from members. Again - just to offer you the option - the meetings are Wednesdays at 2:30 PM PST - all are welcome. As a orginal member of the group I will back up Dom's statement. You are invited to join Ryan's group~that is stated right on the top of Ryan's blog.And on the group's main page. The funny thing is, I really don't have a dog in this fight; I know how this site markets itself. I don't like it but I choose to stay here. However, what I do object to is duplicity. Disaster is probably too strong a word, but I can understand the reaction of some here. As a marketing ploy it's right up there with that 30 day money back guarantee you use to give standard members on the offers page.  Did anyone ever claim their money back and get it Somehow I doubt it

I can't say that I actually HATE it. I think lots of people DO join the site to "hook up." I just don't think it accurately describes the link, however. Wouldn't it be better to say "Search Profiles"? That would be more accurate and less sleazy.

i dont like it. ppl do searches for MANY reasons. just keep it simple and generic, and just use the wording "search" ... and let the ppl define it for themselves when it comes to THEIR OWN reasons what they are searching for. dont define it for us... Having been on this site for around 2 yrs, first as a gold member and then as a standard... I've just tripped over this "Magazine" 3 days ago and I must say most of the women voice my opinion that this site is run by a bunch of under 30 nerdlets.. with more fantasy than fact under their belts.  There is a massive disregard for most women and their sexuality... the poll shows this to be true as 98% believe that this 'hook up' nomenclature instead of 'search' is just plain tacky. And now this stupid pop up window with bogus women saying they are in your area... Oh please  .But obviously they think this works to hook those men with money in their pockets as well a cocks... so I guess all is fair in the sex selling game. Thankfully there are REAL MEN sprinkled lightly among the horn bones on site, who know how to behave like gentlemen! Maybe some of the owners should consider what (I think) rockinr55 said, if they want to keep track of their bottom line: "I dislike it because it's up setting the woman on this site -- last thing we need is more stuff that scares them away. Let's make it a comfortable place for them." What has happened here in Europe is that this site has become a venue for a lot of hookers... which just makes the attitude adjustments even more difficult in how the men approach you.

Well i dont know if i should bother putting my comments here, as only sometime you guys listen to the comments, but yes I have to agree Connect is out, as connect what pussy to cock!!!!!!!!! There are zillion of vanilla dating sites out there.I've never even thought about finding someone to date out of here,not that impossible but I guess this site serves its reasons perfectly. Yes it seems they want to drive female members away, and the majority seems to be dictating the direction of this sight, after all the majority of members are male, but if all the woman are gone, what would the men do??!! votes are not fair as ratio is about 1 female members to 100 male members!!!
