Does a pop-up count as a profile view?
I've given conflicting information on this in the past, so here it is for the record.

It counts as a profile view, but not as someone who viewed you. Confused?



What is a popup?
On your home page or in search results you can scroll over a persons profile photo and see additional information pop up about them. These pop ups are set at a 1 second delay so they aren't annoying as you are moving around the page.

So it counts as a profile view?
Yes, but only in your total number of views. When you go to "Who's viewed me" there is a total number. It adds one to that total number every time someone looks at your pop-up.

But not who's viewed me?
Example: If you go look at my pop-up, I will not know you just looked at me under the "Who's viewed me" page. I simply won't see you on that page.

So if you see someone on "Who's Viewed Me" that means they actually went to your profile page to check you out.

 OK, I think this has been something quite confusing!!!

And just to make sure:
so both are counted as views in regard to standard member priviledges???

 I don't know if I believe that because I have men email me all the time who say I viewed their profile and I didn't. I have always been told it's because I accidentally brought up their pop up and they saw me on their members who've viewed them list.

 I get the "you viewed me so I am mailing" emails all the time. Since I usually just leave the homepage without even looking at it - I know they are lying, and also know that it is one way they are trying to get notice.

I've also seen emails that the LM has gotten from guys saying the same thing .. and well .. I know he's not checking out a dude. It's like the ones who say they read the profile - yet miss the detail that I don't meet.

Since I'm a standard I could not get to their full profiles~I got a 'up-grade' page for each.
So there are two test views...

That's kind of you to do but as I get like 20 pages of views a day I am not sure I want to go through all those pages to look for you. LOL

 Considering that I'm getting views from standards and premium members alike, it would seem that the at-a-glance is counting towards Who's Viewed Me since I know that quite a few of the standards showing up in Who's Viewed Me don't have popularity privileges.

Hmmmmm???

 Wow. See, if you glance at the number of profile views since _______ you'd think wow this is really worth it. Then it's a totally different story as to who actually views your profile.

While we're on this topic, do away with the ability to flirt from the pop-ups. This is just an invitation for spammers & fakes to get you to look at their profile & increase the odds that some poor schmuck will contact them.

Through the last 12 pages going back

I too had seen some standard viewing me appearing on the who viewed me list. I don't think they had popularity privileges and doubt they use points just to see a profile. So my thought is that they seen my profile through the at a glance view.

I had received quite some initial email from male members stating that they saw me viewing their profile. I don't know the profile and had not view on them. So I presume maybe my mouse accidentally mouse over member photo and a glance pop up which I don't even had read,that they see me viewing them and wrote me.

I mentioned my having views by standards also.
My actual view count breaks down as~
,,,130 views,,,
Of those only 26 were gold or silver
and 29 were turned off~
this does not take into account there were a couple
of repeat viewers...

After looking at my numbers.I'm saying there is a glitch
somewhere that allows 'some' to see using the pop-up.

 I haven't seen you address how things register if a person views profiles in stealth mode. Unless I flirt/hotlist/email someone, they should not know that I viewed their profile. Now, we've always been told that a person that views in stealth does NOT increase the view count.

I have given standards a view on their profile when they needed just one more to earn privileges and it did help. So that goes against what I was told, unless there was a terrific coincidences, more than one time btw.

1. Is that true? The view count for looking at an actual profile, not pop-up, does not change if someone who is stealth views it.

2. Does it count if they view a pop-up in stealth mode?

I had one member reply to this on my blog...
After about four hours her view has NOT shown up on my viewed list,Or on the alert bar.
But the alert bar is about 13 hours behind as I write this

I Know what our little test showed.BUT ,I don't get why a views in my list KEEP ON growing.99% are new stanard members and turned off for being fake!HEY,If a FAKE gets viewing privilges,then Why not the real members

 I have members showing up all the time as having viewed me. One couple showed successively over a week as having viewed me every day. Their profile stated they were only looking for women, so I sent them a polite message explaining what I had seen. The reply was that they had not viewed my profile at all. At the time, I was a premium member and emailed support on more than one occasion. After recieving a standard reply, I called the help line (from UK to Cali) at huge personal expense. I was fobbed off on the "phantom views" matter and several other points. The complete lack of "support" is why I no longer view premium membership as value for money.
