Abuse Team News Here's some interesting inside information. Those of you who swing by the Live From AFF know that Mr. K is the head of our abuse team, very supportive of the requests we voice in here and an all around swell guy. He just swung by my desk and let me know that our new abuse team is live. That's 20 new agents. These agents are much more skilled (and expensive), and should be able to handle abuse reports in a much smarter way. These agents will be monitoring chat and webcams and responding to your abuse reports. You should see less of your friends getting kicked off for seemingly arbitrary comments, and better focus on the real issues. |

Wow... look we have head clashes before over shite... & whilst I do not have enough ego to suppose that you particularly have a memory (or bad memories) of that, or that my complaints to you have speeded the changes along, I still think that I have to say how I personally feel as though you and the site have listened and responded... the last four major changes, introduced in 2 months or so, are: i) removal of many, many multi-profilers. ii) the making the IMC usable. iii) preventing multi-profilers from logging in on the same browser. iv) introduction of a live abuse team. Now, I know that you know these things, but these four things show creative thinking and a desire to tackle some of the real problems that affect this site and I am really impressed (it is overdue, but certainly, having been a member since 2004, this represents rapid and effective change) and would like to thank you and the team there for your efforts.

i think it's about time ..as a few seem to have been on first name terms with the abuse team ..and got people who have been on this site for years banned for nothing !only in spite or pure jealousy

I must stress that they are new still. Hopefully it will be immediate. These agents actually speak English, not just read and write it. So they will be able to communicate more effectively about abuse with us and with you. It's probably important to note that this team replaces the other team. We let go of 20 agents because they weren't preforming at the level we all needed. We traded up to a more skilled workforce so that we could address this stuff. True story - Mr. K was banned from the site for saying "Sex" recently. It was one of the straws.  Sorry, I can't help it. Thanks, I really needed that today.

I'm glad to see that this site is working to improve the quality of the abuse team. However, it still takes about 5-6 emails in order to clarify a point. Today was a good example. I asked whether stuffed animals are included in the bestiality clause, where I'm told that if animals, whether on purpose or by accident are within a webcam's view, it's a violation of term of use. It took me five emails to get through to whoever was answering my emails that I was talking about toys, not living, breathing animals. I brought up the question to the abuse team because a good friend of mine was banned today because her collection of stuffed animals (toys, mind you) were on the table when she was webcamming, and she was instructed to send an email to A FF promising she'll never have animals showing in her webcam broadcast again. Live animals, I understand. But banning a person because of toy stuffed animals? The person in question does not have any live animal pets. I finally got clarification that if the animals are stuffed toys, then there is no problem, which I promptly forwarded the email to my friend. With that, I hope the abuse team realizes their error, lifts her ban and clears her name. I certainly hope this new team does a better job in investigating the violations and take action accordingly.

I think that's a whole different problem. I've noticed that, while the site USED to review new member profiles BEFORE they became fully active, that doesn't seem to happen so much anymore...it seems like virtually ANY profile is allowed, and the site depends on members to report fakes and bots to the abuse team for removal. It would be better, of course, if known scammers were not allowed to join in the first place, but there IS some merit to the site's stated policy of letting scammers do their thing in the open...at least you know who they are, and experienced members can just ignore them.

The abuse tem here has what I would call a really strnage definition( this of course assumes that they think anything is abusive there) of what abuse is on the advice line and in the magazine

Obviously now, while the new abuse team is getting up to speed, is the time to bend the rules. Or at least you would want to consider it if you gave a damn...

My best friend got kicked off for using the word . She has bbeen unsuccessful in getting reinstated in spite of numerous calls, and much waiting. She was a paying member for over 5 years, and never had an issue like this before. What does it take to get someone to listen???
