Yes, Kudos are Gone for Good  This will come as no surprise to those of you who attend the weekly broadcast Live From AFF, but Kudos are gone. Here's the explanation I wrote for customer service: Based on member feedback, the Kudos rating system has been removed from the site. This means you won't see Kudos on any profile or be able to give Kudos to members anymore. While it was nice to reward other members for good posts or creative Bling, there were a few reasons members wanted Kudos removed. - Many people didn't know what Kudos were and how you got or gave them. - It was difficult to understand how your Kudos rating was calculated. - Some high earners aggravated other members to give them more Kudos. Some would create fake profiles and give themselves Kudos. You can still rate individual posts, photos, videos or leave members testimonials. |

Hello Ryan, people will figure out a way to do something different. Yhe only thing I did not like about on the ratings of it. It depended on who gave you the ratings and how much. So I am glad it is gone so there will be no competition on kudos. At last!!! It was fun while it lasted but it did distract and take a lot of time which could better be spent doing better things in life. And ElizabethBlonde2 saying she would give you 1000 KUDOS, well she's right (with a big smile on my face  ) because in the end you do have all the KUDOS on this site, even if you dont have any points.Hats of to you Ryan. Doing away with voting on the advice lines would be good,I would like to see it go away in the articles section of the magazine also,and then after that how about trying to cut down on some other abuses there,like members that post things just to spite others. Kisses {=} {=} {=} Christine

I was against the Kudos idea from the start with MANY others. I am not going to miss that at all. I agree on reviewing the voting in the advice lines.. GREATLY needed. YOU DO have people totally misusing the idea of what it was and unfortunately are ruining it for the vast majority there. Sad that adults can't act like adults and have to resort to that behavior. I still think that quite of a few of us have a WONDERFUL idea with you putting in BUTTONS for the FLIRTS/INVITES!!! It would cut down on the men getting the worthless Ghana girl flirts, and it would save the women from the unwanted crap as well. The flirts/invites don't even MATCH our cupid settings... Buttons would be (put invites in where needed as well).. A - Accept all flirts B - Accept only flirts that match my cupid settings C - Do not accept any flirts KUDOS WERE NO GOOD.... glad it is done.. onward and upward!! Ding Dong the witch is dead!!!

Hi Ryan, I just tested and the KUDOS function is not entirely gone. If we go to Search menu, "highest kudos members" and then click on the number of KUDOS rather than the profile name, there is still a possibility to give KUDOS and I noticed some rather callous members did just that and asked for KUDOS to be sent back. Just thought you should know... Christine

I really never understood the harm or good in kudos. I thought it was a way for some people to have some fun. I'd wager that the promise of getting laid is still a little farther over the horizon than getting fucked. People that didn't like kudos are happier now, people that liked them are a bit pissed. I dropped my paid membership because of a lack of customer service. When I made that decision, I knew I would lose the ability to give kudos to Christine. I did like giving and receiving kudos, but when I quit paying, I lost other priveliges as well. No strong emotions on my part. I would like to see what is going to utilize the new bandwidth opened up by the decision though. Another new bug/feature? Regular monthly new bug/feature? If stripping kudos actually would free up resources needed to fix the site, many would be happy. You never had to participate in kudos, but now those that liked kudos cannot participate in that way. The site has pleased those that don't like kudos and didn't use them. The site has pissed off some people that liked kudos and used them as something they participated in for entertainment. Maybe the decision will free up resources to acquire more graphic artists to make more off site advertisements to lure more young horny males to pay money. But I seriously doubt that many single horny young nales attracted to the site by partnership porn sites ever had a clue about kudos. And some of us older horny males that have actually paid foro membership, then quit, well, I still don't see anything to attract me back to the fold of the paying members. But I guess more money is being made for Various with click to fuck advertising. FFN had something people were willing to pay for. Several things, actually. A very versitile, diverse site with lots of options on how to enjoy it. I guess to make the most of the possibility of making some money someday, an executive decision has been made to focus on advertising with partners at the expense of people that actually are members, regardless of status. I understand that the site does not give a damn about my money. My questions and issues went unanswered. It is hard for me to understand how a business can prosper by pissing off customers though, but that's just one of my limitations. I'm simply not that creative. Good luck Ryan. Hi Ryan, Both StolenNectar and Beachbum have a point... It is true that newcomers did find KUDOS as one of the ways to broach a tentative contact. Interestingly, when KUDOS was on, we did receive quite a few messages a day resulting from the KUDOS but in the last 4 days, the volume has been significantly down and today so none at all... Interesting. A F F might actually have shot themselves in the foot on this decision to cancel KUDOS; maybe. Food for thought; even if we say it did take too much of our time...

I have liked Snickers for a long time. I am curious if you got permission to use a recognizable trademarked rendition of their product to post here. Kudos are gone, and other features people use for entertainment are on their way out with the next bug/feature release. In my opinion, the site really screwed up by removing a real woman, a popular blogger from the site. I saw her email to me was removed, her profile was removed, for abuse. She was controversial for sure. Abusive, I missed that part. She generated a lot of user content. Not a lot in the way of suck and fuck content, but thoughtful words about politics and so forth. Remove kudos, voting on A/L posts and comments. Don't fix video or chat. Don't tackle difficult issues. Find more features to disable. Forget about why real people visit often and focus on advertising for clicks on "partner" porn sites. The only reason I write this is because I still have fun, although less fun than when the site focused on content rather than features for horny non paying boys. The site has by deleting a real woman's profile and blog, has also deleted some of my best writing. I understand that I am not in your preferred age demographic. But I may have more money to spend than the company target. I'm already pissed off, and it just keeps getting better. AdultFriendFinder is listening? Maybe. But not to me. Some of us that that are realistic and desire a realistic relationship, founded in an honest forum with realistic expectations get more disappointed with each passing day. The site has incredible potential. Incredible resources. Kicking a popular woman for abuse without explanation seems to me to be really, well stupid. You've explained why kudos were dropped. You did not give the real business reason, the cost/benefit ratio. Either it was not considered, you were not privy to the process, or it was considered by the majority of the boardroom not an important factor. Maybe the path to financial success is to stay the course and not consider creativity at all. Catch guys jacking off with their account number in their hands. Promise them they will get fucked. Maybe I'll consider deleting my account instead of considering rejoing the ranks of paying customers. Maybe the site will make the decision even easier by deleting my accounr for me. Its sad really isn't it? Your opinions on both he advice lines, the votes and your opinion on the demise of the KUDOS function are all justified. Would it not be nice if all our comments and discussions between us were like what is happening here? Quite truly, many members, hiding behind their chosen profile name and faceless pictures do indeed use the platform to insult. You are so right. I have reviewed votes on my own comments and see that I get voted down. Frankly not a problem and I dont care but it is obvious that the down-vote I have received was not justified as I said nothing that required a vote of confidence or not. These are clear attempts to denigrate. So be it. Who cares. Small hearts and simple minded people. On anther matter (and this DOES perhaps require some voting) I suggested to A F F Central that maybe a generalized vote should be made on whether to keep or kill KUDOS and include in the voting sub explanations on why or what voting for. Everyone that takes the time to comment on this blog is a real, concerned member. Not much opportunity for bots or pay to cam whores to ply their trade here. He asked for opinions nearly a year ago. Do you like Kudos The A/L is a separate issue and their problems are a separate issue. They have nothing to do with kudos. The maximum number of A/L members is far more than 50 people. Just look at how many post questions. Yes, there are a handful that post comments on nearly every question, but there are others too. And just because someone doesn't comment daily does not mean they aren't there reading it. Many people read it and refuse to comment due to the behavior of many of the regulars. Kudos did not have 500 members at the top of the list. For the people screaming to get kudos back now, I see those numbers are few. They just post their complaint everywhere they can and seem to be in larger numbers. Anyone who had kudos was on the list somewhere, but that doesn't mean they were active in kudos. I usually had well over 500 points because I was given them. Some by friends and readers, which I appreciated, some by strangers for the purpose of gaining kudos back, which I did not appreciate. Yes, there were times I gave kudos, but to people I felt earned them for their good writing, positive participation, well done photographs and hard work for making bling.

I've seen lots of women complain about the content of emails they receive. Many of them relate the attitude of many of their emailers to the click to fuck advertising. Which should be done away with, the slut/whore get laid tonight advertising, or the email feature? Which is more abusive towards women? In Texas, Men Seeking Women outnumber Women Seeking Men by about ten to one. Perhaps the Browse feature should be disabled so guys can't find that out, and replace it it with another find pussy near you advertisement. I am well aware of the problems the kudo program had. To give someone the maximum amount of kudos, you might give them in a category they had not participated in. I received kudos for videos although I have none posted. Some people got kudos for bling and never made any. It was confusing how the system worked in that kudos from some members seemed to be worth more than kudos from others. And kudos in some categories were worth more than kudos in other categories. Rather than fix something that lots of people participated in, kudos got removed. Now, if every feature that people use but doesn't work quite right is going to be removed rather than fixed, what will that leave? How is the site going to make good on their click to fuck warranty? Kudos were a way to leave a short message to someone. That part worked. Some people may have taken advantage of the system to compete and rise to the top of the kudo list, but I still don't see the harm that caused. It was a way for some to be entertained while waiting to get laid, fucked, by the site. The site fucked me differently. Customer service ignored me when I asked how to change my membership level from gold to silver. I could find no feature to click and decided the only way was to let my account expire, then renew as silver, and sent follow up messages to let the site know what I was about to do. The site let my paid membership run out as the click to fuck advertising nag screens increased in frequency. Much cooler feature than kudos. Hasn't inspired me to renew just yet though. In the interim, I decided to try the standard membership route. The site seems satisfied with that. As a standard male member, I cannot view profiles or give flirts. I knew this when I stopped paying. There's plenty of porn for free on the internet, but I found something I was willing to pay for in THIS site. It was not the click and fuck guarantee. The site seems more interested in attracting horny boys to slut/whores than responding to the desires of it's customers. That's just my opinion, of course. FriendFinderNetworks seems to owe some back taxes to some members of the European Community, snd some of those countries charge a tax for the "services" the site provides. Click "magazine" and you will find the advice line. Another feature the site might consider removing is bling. Ryan, you have to know by now that people are abusing this feature by developing the ability to stitch blings together and making larger blings than allowed by any membership level. Some real people having fun on the site and that have received kudos for their talent might need to have what their participation removed. Forward this to management so they can spank some ass. Make sure to put the prosecution on the portal where punishment is the norm. Just make sure that kudos cannot be awarded as giving is an act of kindness, and that conflicts with the click and fuck mission of the site....Beach Labore pro Pacem

Kudos fans, Kudos were removed because of the abuse promulgated by fanatical collectors. Too many were giving kudos to people they never met and had no intention of meeting or interacting with for the sole purpose of soliciting/receiving kudos back. And too often, when the unsuspecting recipient did not reciprocate, angry and abusive emails followed from the initiator. This is entirely different from the other examples of abuse many of you mention. If you think the AL is a terrible place, you can simply avoid it and it will never affect you. The same goes for groups which don't hold your interest, bling and most other site features. You can opt out. But kudos were different, There was no way to insulate yourself from kudo seeking members or their wrath if you did not play along. A few ruined it for everyone. It is that simple. One further note. It is disingenuous for anyone here to tell anyone else that their little corner of A*F*F is boring/worthless/waste of time etc., so long as they are within the Terms of Use. For example, bling makers who make multi-bling and even expandable bling have been expressly told that their efforts are not violating the TOU. Unfortunately, many kudo seekers did violated those terms. And there was no way for other members to avoid them. The demise of kudos should not have taken anyone by surprise. Aside from the link NascarFox posted to the thread from about a year ago, the AL, site support blog and many groups have detailed the abuse over and over. Many groups even had polls, including the group Live From AFF. This was a long time coming and kudos fans had plenty of time to make suggestions that would have curbed the abuse and kept kudos alive. Short version: Hate the AL or blogs, etc. ? Just stay away from them. Hate kudos soliciting emails? There was no way to avoid them.

wow. My kudos were turned of. That didn't stop kudos hounds sending me emails soliciting them and getting nasty when I didn't answer them or declined. So, again, you are wrong. I could not opt of that particular abuse. And I reported so many for abuse that the report screen started coming up with "What? Again? "  Perhaps you never received any abusive kudos emails because you cooperated with them. I happen to believe that when someone says 'no' , you accept it and move on. Kudos hounds just couldn't seem to understand that particular courtesy. As for the abusive emails you do receive, report them. You seem to be trying to make the argument that because there is other abuse on the site, A*F*F should continue to allow the kudos abuse. Strange notion, that! The Live From AFF group grew out of this blog. There are links to it in several places through these threads and a huge one in the big fat red section on this blog's home screen. It is open to all A*F*F (Various) members.
