It Sometimes It's A Bitch

I have been having a real hard time regarding circumsicing my , I am jewis, but I am still so deeply against it. I said it was because he was so sick when he was little, and didn't want to do it, now he is 4 years old, and his father wants it done, I dont. I tried to make him watch a movie about the circumsicion, but he wouldn't.... I don't know....

I am not Jewish but as with most males that live in the Western world from my generation and on I am circumcised and have no ill will against it, have aloways enjoyed seeing it all there as I grew up. The reason (besides a religious conviction) to do it are for heath as it is easier to keep it cleaner and there is less chance for some types of infection (Yeast for one)and yes though it can be painful to do it is not that much more than getting a hood pirced from what I have seen. I believe it has become more a matter of choice than what it use to be and I have been happy that mother decided that she wanted this done to the boys in my family.

 First Two Comments: To UrSuggahDaddy: You quite obviously you did not read my intire article, and further more...I do not have a daughter, and are you or do you have any concept of how it is to belong to a tradition thats roots are responsible for more than 5 major religions: Muslim, Christian, Chatholic; Roman, And Off shoots of...Lutheran Protestant, Mormon, and Kabalistic? I assumed not, there for you could not concieve of the betrayal that I feel against my roots, also, it is my opinion that I should NOT DO IT!, which in it self is almost unheard of, although I know of one Jew who was also well known : Josephius, a Writer of anchient hisory hired by the Emporer. So since you could not concieve of the feelings I am walking through, your arrogant, and synical remark is MOOT.
And for goldie327: Yes... I have done that argument with my significant other. It goes against everything I feel regarding the rearing of a child, and to allow them to develope into the person that they are. I believe in the anchient form of " Education " :
Greek,for " Bring Out" . In a scense, it was believed that we where all born with the knowledge of everything, there for it was up to the educator, to bring out the knowledge...Where is this going? I think that there is a reason that he( my son ) was not circumsized at birth, there for as he becomes older, it will be his choice, My circumsizing him is the same as choosing a religion for him, even more so if I circumsize. That is not my right as a parent of a man child, My job is to teach him how to treat others respectfully, and to love others with out reason...For me to choose his religion goes against everything I believe in. My eldest son raised Jewish turned Catholic... Far out, it was his feeling that said it was right for him, and he is a great man today. I will not make a life choice for my son. It is up to him, that is what I have come to. And same with Kev...espeacially after I made him watch a film on it. LOL.. Thank you all for your comments.
