34 cents a gallon for gas ...are you serious?? Some people get all the breaks........... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. - Sure, gas prices have come down lately. But to 34.9 cents a gallon? That's what Kelly Joosten and dozens of other motorists paid at a Citgo station Monday. The sign advertised $3.43 for a gallon of premium fuel, but the pump cost read $0.349 a gallon. "That was amazing," said Joosten, who normally spends about $100 to fill up her 1998 Ford Expedition. Joosten proudly showed off her receipt for 25.36 gallons at $8.85. She said she saw other motorists filling gas cans, too, at the discounted price. Station owner JP Raval says the attendant on duty couldn't figure out why the station was suddenly so busy. Raval estimated 30 to 40 customers fueled up at the incorrect price – between 200 and 300 gallons worth – for about 90 minutes. "People kept coming, so fast," Raval said. "Everything was crowded; it was like a fairground." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ouch if you take the difference 3 bucks a gallon times 200-300 thats a pretty good chunk of change. Do you think the employee still has his job???? Would you say anything knowing that there had to be a mistake somewhere or call someone else to go get your other car???? Would you brag to the nation showing off your reciept or just take your saveings & go buy a lottery ticket since you were haveing a streak of luck???? What would you do???? Hugz, Crystal |

Crystal... Most people think that a station owner makes money off of selling gas. It used to be such (somewhat more, anyway), back 30 years ago. Now, it ain't quite that easy. If they're pullin' in 10-15 cents per gallon as gross margin, that's about as good as it gets. Almost all rely on ancillary sales of Coke and chips, coffee, etc, to turn a profit. This example tells me the owner is gonna be hurtin' on his P&L because of dozens of people stealing his gas. They knew there was a discrepancy in the pump pricing, even without having a sign advertising the price. They chose to ignore that fact and take what advantage they could of someone else's misfortune. And how could so many people know of the discrepancy -- no sign advertised the fact? It was the thieves who used their cell-phones to call all their thievin'-buddies to the easy pickin's. And we, all (most all, anyway), sit back and wag our fingers at the Bailout? It's just God letting us eat our own shit (100 times over)... for stealing from our brothers and sisters -- and Him! Oh yeah... we're such astute consumers, us Americans; an honourable lot, indeed. Is there really any wonder as to why everyone in the world hates our guts? Solar...

19harley86 ..... giggles MMMMMM I wouldnt know that lol I was only 9 then SolarPowered0 .......... I did have some of thoses very thoughts go threw my mind.I use to manage a restaraunt so I do understand a P&L.The temptasion for some is just to great.Thanks for your input. 1deltafox ........It is hard to know what I would do as well.It would be hard not to fill up at thoses prices but I think it would bother me to much if I had.I certanly wouldnt brag to the media about what I did tho like that one woman did. HDsellr ........LOL no its 34.9 cents thats what it said at the pump LOL I didnt write the story silly I just copied & pasted he he he.It dose make you wonder tho why they do that .9 dosent it??
