Uhh...creepy-funny..? How do these things keep happening..

Ok, this is funny and eerie all at the same time. I've moved back to my own place for about 3 weeks plus now and I share the place with one housemate who I get along with very well. In the time that I have been back, I have naturally slipped back into my old habits, which incidentally are also very routine. I get home from work, or anywhere for that matter, and I drop my bag, lock the door behind me and strip. Regardless of what I'm doing, be it eating, reading, cleaning the place, my laundry, I remain this way almost every single minute I am home. In this humidity, I don't see the point of being clothed at home. My housemate agrees with this, although she doesn't partake in it, we get on fine with it. The only other time I cover up is when either of our partners come over, so cool. We have an understanding. Our house, our rules, right? Well..

This morning, I had a lift to work so I got down early but my ride wasn't there yet. So I take the time to go check on my letterbox, which I neglect very often. I sift through all the crap, fish out all the ones that I need to get through and I find one attentioned not to either my or my housemate's name, but to a "Dear Neighbour". I was curious and I ripped open the plain white envelope. This is what it read

Dear Neighbour,
I am writing to you as a concerned neighbour from one of the units across from yours. I applaud your sense of freedom and vivaciousness, and I can appreciate the comforts of nudity, especially in your own home. While I am sure you are proud of your physical achievements, which you have undoubtedly worked hard for, may I suggest in investing in thicker curtains. This is neither fashion nor interior design advice. It is a request. Having to peel my husband away from the window while he pretends to not watch rather mundane tasks like vacuuming or mopping is embarrassing. Catching a glimpse of you and your partner fornicating is concerning. What is most alarming, is I have two - four and six year-olds. I would like to explain to them on the details on mating on my own time, and not have them see it before I am ready to explain it.

Please, for the sake of a mother trying to protect her in her own way, change your curtains. The white ones you have now are quite useless.

Thank you.
- Concerned Neighbour.

I have been reading and re-reading this the whole day and every single time, I either laugh, feel a sense of dread, or want to die from embarrassment. I am feeling all three
I'm also not sure if i should feel relieved that the letter was....i suppose, quite polite..? Or get mad that she has criticized my choice of curtains. I am working late today, which isn't a bad thing cos I cannot possibly go back and change my curtains in daylight. I'll change them later at night. In the dark. And maybe never open them again. Okay, maybe not hahaha...sheesh.

Sounds like she may be jealous that her hubby is taking more time checking you out instead of her and is using her two kids as an excuse. I think ,if I were you, i.would have a little more fun in front of those white curtains and see what other letters show up.

Change the curtains in daylight to shear black... The kind which is see through. Perhaps then your neighbor will contribute to you a heavy set triple lining curtain free for you and even volunteer to install them for you.

We read this and think it was appropriately addressed by the neighbor. Not so much for the hubby that is his issue but for any and all kids that may be in viewing distance. They didn't make a big scene and we would just change the curtains. You won't hear from them again.
